Attending Council Meetings

For every meeting that Cawston Parish Council holds there is an agenda created and then minutes are taken as a record of the meeting.

Agendas are published in advance of the meeting. The minutes are taken at the meeting, they are then approved at the following meeting. The minutes are only published and available for the public after they have been approved. Therefore, meeting minutes will usually be a month behind.

For meeting dates, please see the calendar. However, normal meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 7:30pm. Meetings will be held at Cawston Grange Childrens Centre.

If you want to add something to the agenda, please contact one of the parish councillors to discuss the matter.

Members of the public are not permitted to speak when a council meeting is in session and the council are not permitted to make a decision on a matter unless it was published on the agenda. However, there is a 15 minute session at the beginning of every normal meeting, where members of the public can address the council.

Except in certain (and uncommon) circumstances, ALL council meetings are held in public and you are welcome to attend to observe the proceedings. Any private business will be highlighted on the agenda.

You can see and download the latest meeting agendas and minutes on the homepage. The archive is here.
